Illusions In Blue

by Stephen Reardon

Alan Stacey is a promising Whitehall civil servant, heading the private office of a rising junior minister, Hugh Stephenson, who is being tipped for cabinet rank. The normal busy routine of the private office staff and their minister is suddenly pitched into a hidden parallel world of intrigue and deception when a mysterious and perplexing security breach is discovered.

Illusions in Blue relates the events of three weeks in the mid-1970s, when the government minister comes under psychological attack, involving his suppressed guilt over the death of his wife, while Stacey is skilfully seduced into breaking the rules for him.
